Situated at the rapidly growing intersection of quantum physics and information theory, quantum resource theories aim to characterise the valuable resources that enable quantum technologies to surpass their classical counterparts. By developing general and rigorous methods to understand, quantify, and effectively exploit these resources, the field seeks to enable new theoretical frameworks as well as practical protocols that harness the full potential of quantum phenomena.
Quantum Resources 2026 brings together leading experts and emerging voices in the field to explore the latest theoretical insights, operational applications, and future directions of quantum resource theories. This year’s edition puts particular focus on the connections between the study of quantum resources and the methods of quantum Shannon theory, highlighting both conceptual links and information-theoretic techniques.
This event follows previous Quantum Resources workshops held in Singapore in 2022 and 2023 and in Jeju, Korea in 2025.
The workshop will take place fully in person and no virtual participation options are planned.
Final list of speakers to be confirmed.
The workshop will take place in Nihonbashi Hall, located in the very heart of Tokyo and easily reachable by many of Tokyo’s train and metro lines. For more information, see Venue.
